Game Music

GarageBand Screenshot
I’ve had a lot of people asking about the music tracks I used in Snow Day and Love’s Arrow. I’ve been using Apple’s GarageBand to create music for all of the games. It works really well for me, since I’m not particularly musically inclined.

With GarageBand I can find a loop that I like, and then modify it to fit the game aesthetic by adjusting the tempo and changing the instument. I can also add other effects (like the shaker in Snow Day, or the water in Sunken Treasure). It’s great for creating the game sound effects too. Since I have the MIDI instrument set up to play the soundtrack, I can use the same instrument to make little ‘blings’ and ‘bongs’ that fit with the music.
